| Our flexible bottoms are manufactured from vinyl plastisol, which yields elastic type properties. This characteristic allows the bottom to absorb weight and stress. This material will not split or crack under pressure. Our flexible bottom inserts record the highest impact strength in the industry. Tube packages with the flexible bottom insert remain a solid choice to hold industrial tools such as heavy drill bits or tools with sharp points. | The rigid bottoms are made from PETG, which is FDA approved. This allows for the use of a resin identification code (1), making recylability more likely. PETG is an approved material for packaging by all major retailers, and with the material's excellent clarity property, it is a perfect retail package. | ||||

While both bottom inserts employ a permanent adhesive to attach to the tube, the lip on the flexible bottom is slightly longer than the rigid bottom. In reference to weight this added length adds to the strength of the container. In contrast, the rigid bottom insert's shorter lip yields more storage space inside the finished tube, which may benefit the retail package. The rigid bottom insert also weighs less than the flexible bottom insert. | |||
